Sony VAIO, booting comp from recovery cd

Aug 13, 2004 8:30AM PDT

Hi, i posted this question/issue earlier this summer, and got the response after it. If anyone could let me know how to set my computer to boot from the recovery cd, without taking any further action (as a test of the cd drive?). All your help is greatly appreciated!!

Question: Just today my cd-rw/dvd drive in my VAIO pcg-grx520 stopped being recognized by my notebook. I am unable to open the drive as well, and the light no longer flashes (as if it were processing the cd). I've tried taking the drive out, and plugging it back in to no avail. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated, thanks in advance!!

Response: Set the machine to boot the recovery CD, but don't take ANY further action. It's just a test, nothing more.

Can it boot that CD?
