Sony TVs

I'm about to get a Wega LCD because there is a really good deal. The only thing I'm worried about is the durability issues with Sony that I've heard so much about.
Do you guys know if Sonys are reliable?

Thanks.

reliability issues?

i don't know about reliability issues but it sounds like you've already heard a lot of things. anyway, i just bought myself the samsung HL-P5067W and got my mother-in-law the sony KDF-55WF655 about 3 weeks later. after setting it up for her, all i can say is that i sure like the samsung better! the sony setup is weird...no signal strength indicators, cumbersome programming, and--typical sony--they spend about 25% of the owners manual talking about their propriety memory stick slot and it's usage while skimping on the details of the actual TV. samsung's menu system is far more intuitive, the remote is easier to use, the built-in tuner is stronger, and it has more input and output jacks.

Sony TV's

I've got a 50" Sony that i've had since the first of the year. I did have one problem. Of all days, Super Bowl Sunday my screen went blank. I called Tweeter where I bought the set, and they had me set up with a matching loaner by 2:00 that afternoon and came to the house within 3 days to swap the loaner out for a brand new set that has worked fine ever since. I guess the moral of the story is to buy from a reputable shop that will stand behind the product. Incidentaly, I did not have an extended warrantee with Tweeter and when I bought the set, they matched Circuit City's sale price along with the free delivery offer and free financing from Sony for 18 months and no I don't work for Tweeter! I've always been a loyal sony guy and overall it's worked out well.

CHEAP SONY

I bought my Sony kp-65wx600 about a year ago ,its the old three gun unit and I only paid $2500 for it and after three months I had Sony service calibrate the t.v. for me . And I believe I have a better picture than the l.c.d and d.l.p sets. Also as far as convergence goes you can adjust it easly with the remote control This set is so good you can get right up close and and it still looks good please respond I just entered this chat room and would like to hear from you stewart norrie
