1. PVR just needs the HDMI connection. Nothing else
2. CD Player needs the Red and White cables connected to Audio In
3. VHS/DVD Video Recorder just needs the HDMI connection. Nothing else.
4. Sonos Soundbar gets connected to the Audio OUT of the TV and the necessary settings made in the TV Menu
5. NO, you will not receive HD channels unless you already do so. Contact Rogers for further information. HD channels are usually carried at the high end of the channel numbers.

I just purchased a new Sony 4K Ultra Hi-Def 55-inch television (model XBR-55X850D) and am seeking advice or help in hooking it up in addition to some added components. This is my first Hi-Def TV. My previous TV was a standard RCA television and I listened to the CD Player through the speakers on that standard definition television.
With the new TV, I'm just seeking the basic and straight forward setup, with my components located inside the TV stand itself.
I have a Sonos Soundbar, a 200-disc CD Player with only red & white ports at the back, a VHS/DVD Video Recorder and finally my Rogers digital 3.0 PVR.
My obvious initial question is can I hook everything up to the back of this new TV, including the CD Player with the red & white audio cables?
When I connect a HDMI cable from the VHS/DVD Video Recorder to the TV, is this the only cable I have to connect or do I have to also connect the AV colored cables as well?
As for the PVR, do I only need to connect a HDMI cable or once again do I need to connect the AV cables the back of the PVR as well?
Is there a specific order I need to connect the components (PVR, TV, Video Recorder)?
When the TV is hooked up, will I receive the Hi-Def channels automatically or do I need to contact Rogers?
Appreciate any helpful information as it related directly to my setup.
Thanks.
