Sony turntable to a JVC Audio/Video Receiver

by vizmark1 / March 26, 2011 1:17 PM PDT

I am trying to hook up a Sony turntable model# PS-LXS250H (year 200) to a JVC Audio/Video Receiver model# RX-6022V. I am unsure of the model year for the JVC Receiver but it's around 2005. I don't have the manual for either one.

The receiver does not have a phonograph plug in, so I was attempting to use another port. I tried the tape, tv sound, cd player ports, but I only get low volume even at the loudest volume setting. The turn table only has 2 wires coming out of it-the AC plug and two RCA plugs out of the other. This turn table worked a few years ago when I have a 1990's Pioneer system. But that system had a port for phongraph. So does this turntable need a special port?

So anyone have any ideas. It seems like it should be something simple.

Since the volume is low, have you tried a pre-amp?

I found my answer

After doing some more digging I found the manual online.

There is a on/off switch under the turn table. On for amp off for no amp. My pioneer sytem had a amp, my JVC does not. Just had to flick the switch.

Those looking for the switch, it can be found under the rubber mat on the turntable. Take the rubber mat off. There is a window on the turntable. Spin the window to 12 o'clock and there it is.

Thanks Proffitt for your quick response and help.

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
