My Mom just purchased an HP Pavilion Slimline PC with AMD Turion Mobile Processor with Windows Media Center. She had already purchased a Sony TFT LCD Color 19 inch monitor and an HP Photosmart 7760 which we had installed on the new PC. A couple days later I got a popup window from HP that there were updates for the 7760 printer, I downloaded and shutdown the pc to restart a little later. The first time I restarted the Sony monitor had horizontal colors scrolling down the screen. After the shock of thinking I BLEW UP my Mom's new pc, I pressed the power button to shut it down. Fortunately, since I'm still a newby, I always set a restore point before any downloads. I have powered it on and off a couple of times and it seems to be okay, but I'm still wondering if I should have downloaded the updates. Sorry I can't tell you exactly what they were, but I'm wondering if I should system restore back to before updates or since it seems to be okay, should I leave it alone. Thanks and sorry I'm long winded. Pam
Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly
Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
