Sony System of a Down CD not CD ROM compatable

Nov 17, 2005 8:04AM PST

So I got the new System of a down CD in the mail today, before it official Nov. 22nd release date. Seems whatever CD rom drive I put it in, the drive cant even read it. N othing come up at all, on any computer I tested it on.

Warning label on packaging states:
"The audio side of this disc does not conform to CD specifications and therefore will not play on some CD and DVD players."
Does not conform to CD specifications? what the heck is it then?
It's a dual disc and on the other side is DVD stuff and works fine but I wanna put these songs on my iPod and I can't! What the heck Sony?

This makes me a sad panda...

System of a Down is one of my favorite bands (if not my single favorite), so I hate to hear anything bad about one of their CDs. I certainly hope that this is only an issue with the dual discs, otherwise Sony will never escape from the pit of rage that they will dwell within in my world.

Copy protection is nonstandard

You get that warning message about not playing on all CD players when any CD doesn't conform to CD standards.

No copy protection scheme I'm aware of conforms. Don't buy a CD that doesn't have the official compact disc logog on it.
