Sony Str dn 1030 problems PLEASE HELP

by Nicks5522 / January 20, 2014 1:26 AM PST

I have a Sony STR-dn1030 receiver. I have 1 definitive technology speaker with a built-in sub connected. Components connected are Samsung 55" series 9 slim TV, 3D Blu-Ray player PS4, and Fios Cable Box. The problem I am having is the TV will automatically turn off and back on repeatedly sometimes changing the picture screen to distorted colors and lines. The problem comes and goes. When the tv restarts, the receiver makes a clicking noise and displays LPCM [48]. I do not know if it's the TV that's the issue or the receiver.I have tried many different things from updating firm ware and also checking all connections. Can anyone PLEASE HELP ???

What TV is this?
by R. Proffitt Forum moderator / January 20, 2014 1:48 AM PST

There is some models that were hit with the BAD CAPS PLAGUE that is well discussed. If the TV works stand alone then I'd worry it's some electrical wiring issue (wall plug?)

ARC is a minefield of broken promises. Sadly my view is tainted by folk showing me it broken. I hope it's better in real life but if you ask me, try it, if it fails, don't use it.

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
