You should be able to connect your HDMI cables like you used to. If it was working fine before, the only thing I can think of is possibly a HDMI spec change between your new receiver and the old cable box.
Or it could be a set up thing. You may need to go into the Sony receiver and change your input and output setup. But give us some more info...hopefully we can help.
I PURCHASEDTHE SONY DAV71000ES RECEIVER AND AM STUCK WITHOUT BEING ABLE TO USE THE HDMI CABLE FROM MY CABLEVISION HD BOX THRU THE RECEIVER TO MY SONY HD TV.I WENT TO THE WEBB PAGE OF SONY FORSUPPORT AND WAS TOLD THEY WERE NOT ABLE TO SOLVE THE PROBLEM AND WAS TOLD TO CONTACT TEL SUPPORT AFTER 4 DAYS OF FOLLOWING THE TECH ADVISE WAS FINALLY TOLD THAT THIS UNIT DOES NOT SUPPORT MY CABLE BOX. PREVIOUSLY I HAD A SONY STR-800 AND EVERYTHING WORKED FINE. I CALLED THE WEB STORE FROM WHOM I PURCHASED THE RECEIVER, AND WAS TOLD I COULD NOT RETURN THE UNIT. NOW I'M STUCK WITH A UNIT THAT COST OVER $1,200. NOW HELP OR SUGGESTIONS ON HOW TO HOOK UP THIS RECEIVER?
