Sony's KV34HS420 for Xbox 360? 720p?

Aug 15, 2005 1:23AM PDT

Hello,

I'm looking at a Sony KV34HS420 34" CRT TV for a new TV to play Xbox 360 games on (i know, i know, I'm paying for the sony name but it looks the best to me).

I'm wondering if anyone knows if this TV will do 720p or does it convert it to 1080i?

Thanks for the help,

Court.

This set will display 1080i sources. CRT sets are not limited in the same ways as plasma, lcd, and rear projection sets. They typically can display a broader range of resolutions than other technologies.

Thanks for the reply rswanson but : Happy

I'm sorry I'm confused. So it won't display a 720p signal?

Thanks,

It will upconvert the 780p signal to 1080i. So you will see the signal, just upconvereted. And, I think you'll be hard-pressed to tell the difference. For every person that will swear they can see a difference, you'll find one that will claim they can't. It certainly won't look bad!
