Question

Sony PD170 Sel/Push Exec wheel issues?

May 7, 2014 7:34AM PDT

Hi,
I have a Sony PD170 and I'm having issues when I try to navigate the menu through the Sel/Push exec wheel.
I've reset the camera, tried the remote control, but nothing seems to fix the problem.
Has anyone experienced this before? Any ideas if this has an easy fix and how?
Thanks!!

Clarification Request
This model showed up in 2003.

On the surface it sounds like it needs repair. Given the age my bet is someone has seen this failure and my bet is Sony repair will know how to fix it.

Thanks Bob.
I'm actually selling the camera and only noticed the issue.
I just wanted to know if there was an easy fix to this but from the looks of it there isn't.

"might" be worth repair.

I see these go for 500+ on the usual sites and while I would pass on it due to non-HD, miniDV issues and more, there is a market for them. Get a repair estimate and then see if that is less than what you think it will sell for. The nice part about getting it fixed is you can add that detail and maybe claim it's in top condition.

Yeah, I will not sell it until I get it fixed.
Will speak to a Sony repair centre to see what they say.
Thanks for the help!!
