My take is - drm may be here to stay, but it HAS to get fairer.

IMHO the Sony troubles are only the tip of the iceberg, but it has brought to the attention of many people how bad things have gotten for the consumer.

Also the BPI (the british RIAA) is suing more P2P sharers. Yeah, - Carrot rather than stick guys????
