Sony MiniDVs

I want to buy a handycam for personal and semi professional purposes. I have read a lodt about how the DVD format cams still have some issues.

So I am thinking of buying a sony MiniDV. Some issues I wanted to clarify.

1. DO all MiniDVs have a firewire port. This is esp. important all models are not available in India, and I want to order from outside the country.

2. What about frame mode? I'v read somewhere that in order to get a "film" like look it's important to have a frame mode, which sony handycams don't have?

3. What is the funda of 1/16" ccd imager vis-a-vis 1/6" ccd imager?And what is meant by gross pixels and effective pixels in camera tape postion?

And between DCRHC21, DCRHC32 which one is a better buy?
