Does anyone know if this camera has a history of producing subpar hd video?
Because I've tried everything with the one I bought and the raw video, when played on my laptop (which is more than capable of playing crystal clear hd video) and on my hdtv, is just a little too grainy for me to believe this is what the camera is supposed to produce.
I had a nearly identical Sony model a few years ago and the results were great. I still have the raw video from that camera and the difference is noticeable.
So what is it? I've read some things on Google about low light performance, but I'm shooting stuff in my bedroom during the day with the lights on. I can't imagine that's it, unless someone can tell me that the PJ540 simply doesn't shoot well in indoor lighting.
Do I need to send it in for repair? I keep thinking I'm missing something. The noise isn't obvious when you're looking at it in camera, but it shows up when full screen on a computer or an hdtv. The prior camera I had (which by the way, was in the same price range, so it's not like that one was more high-end or anything) didn't have these issues.
Any suggestions or advice would be greatly appreciated.
