my warning to anyone considering a Sony camcorder; first decide if you are a PC or a MAC. I've had so many people tell me - Apple Guru's - Sony tech people, that the Sony hard drive recorder is compalible with the Mac imovie. My direct experience has found that the Sony records in mpeg while the Mac imovie needs m4p, and never the twain.... I've had to convert, at the Guru's suggestion, 4 hours of video into intensive, Handbrake conversion before I could get my audio out.
Experts have insisted, and sent articles written attesting to the fact that the two platforms are compatible. I still have over 2 hours waiting to be converted - from a 2010 vacation.

Trying to decide between these two cameras. They both have a zillion features and seem to have the same sensor and lens.
As far as I can tell after pouring thought the specs, the only differences I can see are:
CX360V
32 GB memory
12x Optical Zoom
7 MP stills
GPS feature (useless to me)
$200 more than PJ10
PJ10
16 GB memory
30x Optical Zoom
3 MP stills
Projector (not that interested but I'd play with it)
$200 less than 360V
Am I missing something here? Everything else seems to be identical. So for me it's basically a tradeoff of Optical Zoom vs Better stills. Can add cards for more memory. I wish they'd just bundle all the goodies into one camera. Don't understand the marketing. I already have the 360V in hand but am considering taking it back and trading for the PJ10 and a 32GB card and get $100 back.
Please help me decide asap! What do you think?
Thanks in advance!
