Most definately go with the iAudio X5. It does so much more, and for the same price, you can't lose.
So I am strongly considering the first two but I have a bunch of questions that I havn't found any asnwers to.
HD5
1) can you play downloaded mp3s? I have a ton of mp3s from the good ole days when no one cared but I heard the HD5 won't play them. Is this the case? In fact do any MP3 players play regular old mp3s that I grabbed off the net? if not, well darn...
2) I saw that a bunch of people have been complaining about the cracked buttons. How long would it be for a permanent solution to be available (I know its brand new but still...)?
X5
1) can you convert avi's to something that the cowon can play? whats the size difference? i have a bunch of anime that has subtitles on it that would be nice to make more portable, hoping the subs go with the video.
2) I haven't heard of cowon before coming to cnet. Are they players good quality?
finally a general question, given the pros and cons of both players which one would be better? i know it comes down to preference and all but just on a general stand point maybe. also if there is a HD based mp3 player thats better that I didnt list, reply with it and why its better. I don't want an ipod but if its amazingly better then I would reconsider.
sorry for the length ![]()
