Sony Handycam HDR-CX360V

purchased this handycam camera 8-2011 on 2-28-2013 got a flashing E:91:01 on the screen. Sony says I have to send it in and it will cost about $275.00 to fix it. this is a flash issue that seems to be fairly common on their camera's. I expected this camera to be trouble free for more that 18 months. Any suggestions on how to resolve this issue. the light for video still can be turned on, however the flash will not work with the camera. Not happy with Sony and there customer service right now.
