The video head need cleaning as old tapes have dust over them.
you can use a white paper - the kind of copier paper to clean the head. Gently hold it against the head drum and rotate the drum horizontally. Do not move the paper in vertical motion.
If you have a head cleaning tape you can use for about 10 seconds only.
Hello,
I recently dug out my old cam corder as I have a video grabber to egt all the video onto dvd. I was watching the old footage on my TV with the AV leads and all was fine. However, then the picture went snowy, then blue. Now none of the tapes I have will show a picture. They are playing as the counter is turning on the cam corder. whn connected to the tv or pc, it is just a blue screen. There is sound, but it is very difficult to hear. Sounds like its very windy!
Is there anyway I can salvage this? Is it likely to be the tapes or the player?? I woudl really appreciate some help, as really dont want to lose this footage.
Thanks in advance!
