SONY handycam - 10 year old model

Nov 4, 2006 6:02PM PST

I have just ''inherited'' a SONY handyam, Model: CCD-TR420. It is ''Analogue''and uses Video8 tapes as recording media. I think the model is some 10 years old.

Although I am able to figure out how everything works, I am at a loss when adjusting the Date and Time, which , I think, must be set in order to be able to record. I am able to enter ''Date'' and ''Time'' mode - there are buttons at the side - but then I am unable to enter figures at the ''_ _ : _ _ : _ _ '' etc. And I think a combination of buttons at the top (Stop, Play, FF, RW....) should be pressed. Instructions for other similar models should also work. Can any one help, please ? T.I.A.

Hey even I have a camera thats at least 9 years old. Its a Sony. Dont know which model. Dont know how to find out. My dad bought it for about $1000. Pretty cool at that time. Oh well I am lucky because the local store here sometimes has a promotion where you can exchange your old cam for a new one. Of course you have to pay some money. But basically the price of the new cam just gets reduced. Thats what I am going to do in a while. I have not bought a new cam since that one which was my first.lol

Ten year old model. So the Date/Time battery was flat. Tbat's maybe why I saw "- -:- -:- -" instead of "00:00:00". I changed the battery and now everthing works !
