Sony Handy cam.... Charging riddle?

Mar 20, 2011 5:57AM PDT

Hey there folks? I've come to great confusion with my Sony Handycam (DCR-SR32E)

It's been made redundant for the past month or so, I finally fished it out of the cupboard and tried charging it.

Chargers in, and by now I should've been seeing the charging indicator,, however it had different ideas.

I left it to the charger not working, until I saw the charging indicator on. We were back in business.

No we wern't. Far from it,

Now... I discover that it "charges" in short bursts. The longest I've seen the indicator on is about 3 minutes.

I gave the camcorder and battery a quick clean up with a wet wipe. That#s when it was at it's best of three mins.

Although, whether it's optimistic thinking or not.

The battery has enough power to turn on now. So gave it a whirl. Now oddly enough, when it's on (with the charger in) it doesn't tell me how much battery I have left. As opposed to it saying 114 odd minutes left without the charger in. So for all I know it could just be a matter of the indicator being a dud.

Regardless, any info is much loved! =)
