Question

Sony Experia X Model... Got it new for $199, advice please k

Sep 6, 2016 7:06PM PDT

Hello to all,

I'm a long time member of many forums, mainly high end automatic watches. Over the past three years I've become entrenched and intrigued I guess by mobile devices. Long to short.. used to blackberry until the iPhone 5 came out and even then I didn't want to switch. Have used Apple ever since until this year when I decided to, why not, give Android a try out. I can tell you I'm not a Samsung software interface fan as I've owned both s7 models and they are gone. However although I think Apple IOS is utterly seamless, I didn't go back and I'm still using two Android devices. One is the Motorola Z Force which I love and the other is a Sony Experia X which is the main reason for my first of many posts to come. I was able to pick this phone up from Best Buy brand new sealed for $199! So my question is, to the ones who have the product knowledge of both Sony and Android, did I do well and do I have a pretty good device? I really like the interface and love the 5 inch 1080p screan. It does have the 650 processor but still seems pretty quick even compared to my Moto Z Force actually. I've tried several different Android phones now and these two I really like. Is Sony coming back and should I have gotten the X Performance but of course I wouldn't have at $199 either. That's a long story but the short of it is I had to get the head manager involved so I believe I got a good deal but need advice and some Android knowledge to really confirm it. I'm still learning Android.

Lastly, I am considering one more Android. The Honor 8? The Nexus 6p? Or please advise of any others I should research please if you guys and gals don't mind.

Thanks a bunch for reading

"Is it unlocked?"

It's a good enough deal if unlocked.

Unlocked

It's definitely unlocked. I actually ported a number over from Verizon and went to Cricket so I could use it. Plus I didn't want to be tied to a specific carrier on it. I went ahead and forked out for the unlimited data plan for the first month and got them to $65 but I may drop down next month. Only downfall to Cricket is they don't support Sony phones with hot spots so I'm out of luck there. Love the phone so far. I will say though that I started out with the XA which ended up having software issues. Then when I got the worst customer service on earth at Best buy it made me so mad I demanded the head guy. Not a manager but the very top of the store. He refunded me $50 on the XA which put me at $199 into the phone then offered to exchange it even swap for the X Model. I have to say he went way above and beyond for me and I definitely told him so. Another kicker. The X software went bad too. Touch screen quit working on the bottom portion. That's two Sony phones in a row with bad software. Now I'm on my third Sony which again is the X but still only in at $199. So far so good with this one for three days now. The other X lasted 4 days. Is this typical of Sony software or did I just hit the lottery so to speak in a negative way with two bad phones in a row? I really wanted the X Performance but way over priced I thought. I'm happy at $199 with the X as I have always liked having one small phone if you can actually call 5 inches small. Now I'm interested in the X Compact at 4.6 inch screen and possibly sell the X and make some on it maybe. I just am not sure. Plus the compact hasn't been released yet. I'm leaning towards the Nexus 6p based on its high reviews and I want to give a 5.7 incher a try. I'm definitely getting one more phone but I've seen so many nice ones out at the moment that I'm quite confused which to get.

65 bucks would get me a lot of data and more. I have a 5.5 inch on my desk at work. It's not so big as folk thought it would be.
