I didn't see you address how the cell carriers are the ones that can deny service if your phone doesn't run a supported version of OS or firmware.
Your petition seems to be that of a person that is new to this industry.
Sony Ericsson have yet to release the tools necessary for the community to update/upgrade from the irrelevant operation system which is Symbian s60. With all the requests found all over communities across the internet regarding this specific issue, sony ericsson still does not move. Here Is how I currently feel about this company:I have the impression theyre either lazy or greedy because evidently they dont take take customer feedback seriously. Instead, they throw our feedback out the window like it's garbage. Everywhere i look, I see people complaining about sony ericsson's negligence towards vivaz owners and would not be surprised if we are not alone in with our situation with this company. Sony Ericsson,If you're going to release a device with absolute rubbish for software, then atleast have the decency to provide the tools (rom or drivers) so we, the community, can make the necessary changes ourselves (Android, Windows Mobile, Ect). Either you're too lazy or you are obviously too greedy to spend money on the resources to support customers that have already taken the plunge and purchased one of your products. To the community,If they will not support the us, then we (vivaz and satio owners) will wont support them any longer.
