Alright, so I went into the setup and realized that the center and sub were disabled from the analog out. I enabled the center channel, and voila! All is good. Thanks anyway, and sorry for you people that were conjuring up and answer just to see I figured it out anyway. Have a great day, and thanks again for all the people who post in here every day.
I have the Sony DVP-NS775V DVD/SACD player and am very pleased so far, but am soon upgrading my audio to a true 5.1 setup with Axiom speakers. For now, I just have 4 channel surround sound, and it sounds ok, probably a 7/10. The thing is, I'm lacking a sub. My ADCOM amp with the Cerwin Vega LS-12s provide plenty or SPL and bass, but not the kind you get from a good Axiom EP-350 sub. There also is no center channel, so dialogue is a little lackin during some scenes. Well, the Sony DVP-NS775V has separate outputs from front R&L, rear R&L, center and LFE channels. I have the front going to my Adcom GFA-1 / LS-12, and rear going to my ONKYO TX8211 powering some RCA bookshelves. This is all controlled by an Audiosource EQ and Hafler preamp. When I upgrade to Axiom Speakers, I need some way to hook up the center channel. At one point, I hooked the sub out to my Adcom amp and heard no sound. The amp has plenty of frequency bandwidth and the Cerwin Vega LS-12's have a frequency response of 28 hz - 20 KHz. I also tried this with the center channel, and again nothing. SO THE QUESTION:
Do I need a decoder? I figured with this Sony DVP-NS775V, the outputs would all be analog pre-outs ready to be amplified. Any ideas if I can just buy another monoblock, or if I will need a decoder for the Center / Sub? Sorry for the winded post, but I really need help before spending possibly $2500+. Thanks again!
