Sony DVD Player (720p/1080i Upscaling Video Output )

by gtchris19 / March 20, 2006 6:50 AM PST

I'm in the market for a new Sony DVD player. I'm interested in the DVP-NS70H b/c it has Upscaling Video Output. I'm wanting to use a Circuit City gift card for the purchase and unfortunatley I can't find a CC anywhere near me (Atlanta, GA) with one in stock (Model DVP-NS70H). Apparently the model has been discontinued for a model to be shipped "sometime soon."

1. Anyone know when Sony plans to release the new model(s)

2. Anyone have the inside scoop on the new models as far as new features, cost and appearance of the player itself?

Thanks in advance!

Found an NS70H

I had trouble finding this player also, disappointing becouse I had done a lot of research and finally settled on one that seemed to not exist. Even SonyStyle didn't sell it. I found it for sale at B&H, a photo shop in NY (bhphotovideo.com) for $129 +13.15 shipping. Shipped UPS ground, 3-5 days, this is day 5 and haven't seen it yet. I'm starting to get anxious!

Remember hi-def d.v.d. players are just around the corner so you may want to wait. Also in my case I bought a sony d.v.d. player with componit vidio output, looked horrible I then bought another Denon player with the samre output both units gave a nasty picture, I finally bought another Denon 2910 with d.v.i. and h.d.m.i. output and the picture performance is outstanding. I also had this picture problem with my Dish 811 hi-def sat system until I switched to a d.v.i. interfacwe good luck stewart
