Sony DSC-T1 advice...

Aug 29, 2004 10:11PM PDT

ok...i've been saving up for some time to afford this camera...and im just about there...i dont know if its a good idea to just blow all that saved up cash for this camera or not. Im usually really stubborn about these things, so if anyone out there has any advice, i.e. if i should or not and why...if u could tell me, 500$ is a pretty big descision, heh. Also, if you know anything that is just as good or even better for less would be greatly appreciated

The only real gripe that I have heard about this camera is the flash is very weak. Only covers about 5 feet from the camera. Typical for these ultra thin cameras.

Read some customer opinions to get a feel of what owners think about the camera:

http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/read_opinions.asp?prodkey=sony_dsct1

Whenever reading customer opinions you will always encounter a grouch who compares the camera to an unrealistic goal and just hates everything about it.
You will also encounter the happy soul that hasn't a clue but is just happy to be alive and loves everything about the camera.

Just as judging sports events, throw out the highs and lows and base you final result on the remaining scores.

To save a buck or two, you might check the T1 prices at www.newegg.com
