Sony DSC-P93A battery replacement question

Jan 17, 2005 6:55AM PST

This camera came with Sony AA NI-MH rechargable batteries rated at 2100 mAh. Is it possible to replace these batteries at a higher mAh of say 2500 or 3000 without damage to the camera.

I do not see this addressed any place and would like to consider purchasing additional batteries with 2500 mAh. Thanks for your help!

Yes you can use the larger mAh AA batteries.

It has more capacity and should give you longer service before needing recharge.

The battery manufacturers recommend that you do not mix the batteries. i.e. don't use mAh 2100 and mAh 2500 as one set, use all 2100 or all 2500 as one set.

Your response was exactly what I wished to know... appreciate the additional non-mixing information. Happy

Where can you buy the bigger mAh batteries?

I just won an eBay bid for a Sony DSC-P93A and saw your posting after a Google search for the unit. May I inquire where to buy these upgraded batteries for the camera?

AA NiMH Batteries

The Sony P93 is a nice camera.

Check you local WalMart store for batteries that are higher rated. You have to look in two special places. Look in the camera department and also in the battery department located near the computers.
The battery kiosks usually do not have the NiMH batteries.

Radio Shack is also a place to check.
