The HX300's 50X zoom far exceeds what I would consider "Medium". Actually, even the FZ200's 24X zoom is much longer than what I would consider medium. But since you also mention low-light capability, I would go with the FZ200 for its constant f2.8 lens.

Hi.
Amateur photographer.
I am looking for a camera that gives me better quality photos. Most photos I take are of nature or faces. Medium zoom. The important things to me are the vibrancy of the photo, the sharpness and stability of the lens. Low light capability would be added advantage.
I narrowed down my preferences to HX300 and FZ200. Which one of these would more experienced photographers recommend? If there is a better camera that meets my needs than these 2, please advise.
