Sony DRU 710a Boot problem

Having a problem with my dvd burner it reads normal cds music cd but when i insert a dvd my system hangs (freezers)and when i reboot with the disk in the drive it only getup to the blue sceen before it ets into windows and it hangs...It does read data dvd when i insert the next dvd it still has the previous dvd info still on..
I install the dvd drive on my other pc and there is no problems it reads everything!!
Could it be somthing conflicting with the drive?
its being running good for 5 months all of asudden it started to play up..
Any suggestions...
