Sony DHR 1000 Driver

by wilsondg55 / January 30, 2007 6:17 AM PST

My Sony DHR 1000 doesn't connect properly with my PC and Windows XP Movie Maker. When I connect the DHR my computer recognizes the new hardware as AV>C tuner, but prompts fail to find software/driver. I can capture video, but Movie Maker doesn't control DHR.

Sony doesn't have a driver for this device.

Has anyone found a solution?

Movie Maker is a freebie. I wouldn't expect it to work with such great gear.

Did you try WinDV?

Same question.

Is it connected with firewire?
Does your firewire work with other camcorders?
Does this unit work with other computers?

The reason for the last question is that in some school said unit had blown firewire ports and wasted time for everyone that wanted to try it.

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
