connects to your computer like a miniDV tape based computer... using firewire (also referred to as Firewire 400, IEEE1394a, DV and i.LINK).
If your computer does not have a 1394 port, hopefully it has an expansion slot so you can add one. Once the firewire port is working, there is no additional "device specific" driver needed for the camcorder (like USB needs).
With the camcorder's DV port connected to the computer's firewire port, and the camcorder connected to AC power, and the camcorder in "Play" or "VCR" mode, Vegas should be able to import the video. WinDV can also be used for that import - and the resulting video data file can be imported to Vegas.
USB will not work. USB/firewire converter/adapters will not work.
I am trying to get this thing to download or play on my pc.
I have purchased countless cords and such that i need, or have been told i need. Can anyone help me to get this to work.
I have tapes digital8 and need to know what programs i should run to get my pc to reconize my handycam.
I purchased Vegas Movie studio 8 and cant get my tapes on the program, any help would be awesome! Thanks
