Sony DCR-TRV145E CDD Failure

Just rung sony UK. MY camera is exibitng the black lcd and black viewfinder. However i can playback on the lcd and on the tv. Because it plays back on TV the lady said it cant be the CDD which is strange because it plays back on the lcd.

Help? Thanks!

yes ive seen this and rung that number. problem is Sony claim it aint CDD because i can play it on tv. What im asking is this true or not?

"The lady" may be right... the CCD is the retina of the camera - it interprets the imagce captured through the lens. Since you can playback and see the image externally, then the retina - the CCD - is working. There is something else wrong with the internal "monitor" connection - the LCD panel and eyepiece are not receiving the signal to display anything.

No no, by playback on the tv i mean playing a tape back before the camcorder broke. If i record now all i get is a black image.

I you record now and get black, then I would say that to Sony - it is sounding like the CCD...
