Sony DCR TRV 280 Video Capture

Jun 7, 2005 3:24PM PDT

Hi, I am new to the Camcorder field, and just purchased a Sony TRV280, most of all for the price and the direct "Burn VCD/DVD" feature. After installing the software it brings, I find out that the software does not recognize my CD Burner. Since the AVI files it creats during video capture equal about 150MB of data for about 30 seconds of video. At that rate I will fill my computers' HardDisk for a 40 minute or less video. Therefore, if someone can recommend how can I burn Videos directly from the Handycam I would appreciate it.
(I already tried testing with trial versions of Video Capture Software, but they do not recognize the Handycam when it is plugged to the USB port)

Any suggestions?

I had same problem. I gave up. I bought Pinnacle software and made the video as MPEG. Then I moved MPEG to CD.

The video from you camcorder will take up about 13gb per hour of video. You are going to need a bigger hard drive.
