Sony DCR-PC100

I don't know if I can ask this question on this forum but let me know if I cannot and suggest where I might ask this question. I own a Sony DCR-PC100. I have not used it in a few years. I'd like to get it thoroughly inspected and checked-out to make sure there are no hidden potential malfunctions for an inexperienced user like me. Could you suggest a reliable repair/inspection service company that would put the camera through testing to make sure all functions are dependable? I guess this Mini DV digital video cassette is older technology but is it out of date?
