Sony DCR-HC48

by baritus / September 28, 2007 2:37 PM PDT

I just got this camcorder, and have shot several minutes of video, but am unable to upload the video to my PC via firewire.

Everything is plugged in, connections are good, and I'm using the software included from Sony.

But the computer doesn't recognize/can't find the camcorder.

Any thoughts?

What operating system?

Did you use the cable in the box to try and transfer the video or did you get a cable separately?

Configuring Card
by Marquillos / September 29, 2007 3:28 PM PDT

Hey there!

I had the same problem when I first got my Sony HVR-A1U. I am using a PCI card with Firewire and analog video inputs. I had to configure Nero to recognize the Card and then I was able to upload the video.

Just by any chance, if you are using a mother board computer supporting firewire then you might need to upgrade your drivers (Firewire driver) and then configure the firewire port with whichever software you are using.

Hope that helped.
