When I look with google.com for that model, it comes in a NTSC or PAL configuration and is not dual mode.

So far, all the units I've seen with both NTSC/PAL with a switch you throw to record in what you want are in the DVPro camcorders. Such start out about 3 grand US or higher.

At such a cost, I can see it would be cheaper for you to have one each NTSC camcorder and one PAL unit.

Hope this helps.

Sony DCR-HC32 is available in India for Rs 31,990
You may get some discounts in India(5 to 8 %)+ 3 years mfrs warranty.
check this link:
http://www.sonyindia.co.in/sonyindia/products/DisplayProduct.jsp?modelNumber=DCR-HC32

The accessories/batteries are a bit expensive in India.

I was checking to buy DCR-DC-21(which is not available in India, model without inbuilt digital camera) in canada. It works in pal countries also(India).U need to buy a extra plug.Warranty is only 1 year in US/canada.
Sony DCR-HC32/Sony DCR-HC21 If u buy in US/canada which works in India now they say that u can play directly in newer TV's is India.
Le me know if u get a DCR32 cheaper in US/canada.
Hope this helps.
