May 16, 2005 11:06PM PDT

i give up !!! lol
after spending a lot of time trying to get it to work, i'm coming to you guys. i was able to capture the video, but haven't been able to get good quality dvd copys that will work on the dvd player.
first, is there a particular way to capture to get the best quality, or does that not matter ?
also, do i need to buy a program to convert and burn to a dvd at high quality, or are there some free ones that do just as good ?
if i need a program, can you suggest some good ones to use ?
let me know if there's anything else i need to know.

THANKS !!

In short..

The review at http://www.camcorderinfo.com/content/Sony-DCR-HC21-Camcorder-Review.htm left me with the feeling that any "quality" was never achieved with this model.

However, it may be possible to use FIREWIRE, WinDV and some Ulead DVD MovieFactory 4.0 to get decent DVD results given the stature of this camera.

I learned my lesson about the USB transfers.

thanks for the info !!
ok, so if i have captured the video with movie maker, can i take that and burn a dvd, or do i need to do something else first ? does it automatically save as DV-AVI, or do i need to change it to that ? if i need to change it, how do i do this, and will i be able to burn to a dvd if it's DV-AVI ?
i captured it with usb, is this going to limit the quality ?
if so, if i need to use firewire, do i just need to buy a cable ?
thanks !!

I learned early that "Movie Maker", "USB" are things that don't work.

A list of what tools I've learned worked was noted. You can learn this again or take a shortcut.
