Sony DCR-DVD408 Question

I just bought for the 1st time this camcorder and I initialized/formatted the DVD-RW, shot my video, and then finalized it. When I played it on my TV set, I noticed that on a periodic interval the image would freeze for a moment (and not when I would stop the video). Is this normal with this type of camera, why is it happening, what should be done about it ? Thanks.

Changing to another DVD player cleared that up. This may not be an option for some.
