I use Sony Vegas Studio....

I have a DCR-DVD92 and it also doesn't have a USB port(that works). The Sony Vegas Studio software is only about $50 and it is awesome. There are so many things you can do in it and it imports DVDs really easy. Easy to edit and add effects.
