This means that if you input something that is not comonent video, you must output that format..
Example: If I plug in my cable box via composite to the DAV-X1, then I must run a composite output to my TV, regardless of the fact that I have the DVD player built-in to the DAV-X1 hooked up via component video. Although many systems are capable of upscaling and transcoding a composite source to compnent or HDMI, yours cannot.
just installed a sony DAV X1. I used the component video out of the dvd player to the TV and I get sound and video when the dvd player is in DVD mode. I also hooked my direct tv box using the video/audio out to the audio1/video1 input on the dvd player. when I switch to video1 mode on the dvd player, I get the sound of the direct tv but no image on the screen. When I hook the direct tv box to the tv, using the same cables I get sound and image so the direct tv box is ok.
I try the audio2/video2 conections and I get the same result. audio ok, no image.
What am I doing wrong ?
