SONY Cyber Shot DSC-HX1

My experience: I bought one on 27 Dec after 5:00p at BestBuy #198 in Tucson, AZ. Got it home, the gear for the zoom/wide angle lens malfunctioned. Took it back late the next morning, they exchanged it for another one, same model. Cost$479.99. Today, less than 2 months later, same problem, only this time the lens comes almost out of the camera body. Since I live outside the U.S., BestBuy won't help me. Sony's customer service suggests I press the reset button. Now the lens is completely stuck, won't move, and the only recourse I have is to ship it to their Texas repair facilty! Has anyone else experienced this?
