Made in ?

For years, made in Japan was considered best.

Now labor cost in Japan is high (just like USA) and the camera makers are looking for cheaper labor.

The Japanese approach to manufacturing things in China is different than USA companies.
The Japanese companies send a team of management and quality control people from Japan to run the operation.
You should see equal quality.

When you mention cost, there are many things involved.

It can depend upon what country your are in and will the camera be covered under warranty in that country.
In the USA many camera stores can sell you a camera that is aimed for the USA market, and they can sell you a "grey market" camera that was purchased from Europe.
The "grey market" camera will be cheaper. But if you need warranty service, you have to send the camera to Europe for warranty service.
The one sold in the USA may be from one factory (Japan) and the one sold in Europe may be from a different factory (China).

Without knowing all the details, there is no way we can give you a definitive answer.
