Sony Clie PEG SJ33

Dec 27, 2004 1:53PM PST

I'm having trouble charging my SONY Clie -

When I plug it in -- the red charging light doesn't stay lit -- unless I 'play' with the plug... any suggestions?

Thanks, Rocker.

http://www.compgeeks.com/details.asp?invtid=CLIE-ACC&cat=PDA may be a cheap idea. And a good technician could open it up and see if some solder joint needs fixing, but that's your choice. There is nothing much to be done except decide some course of action which may result in a fix or death of said PDA.

Buy a cradle.

I had a nasty time at getting the charge to occur consistantly. I had the same difficulty. The included cable(s) weren't stable enough. Wiggling helped occasionally but wires settle and come morning, I occasionally had a drained battery. That and the battery wouldn't hold a charge. I thought it was dying (less than a year old).

A member of another forum suggested I buy a cradle. I bought one off eBay and SHAZAM! Good as new. The clie charges continually and consistantly now. Also, there was nothing wrong with my battery.

Give it a try and see. You'll be glad you did.

Be Well,
