Question

Sony Camcorder as Webcam

Sep 17, 2012 8:44AM PDT

I'd like to use a Sony Camcorder as a webcam. I bought the HDR-CX190 and plugged it in via HDMI. The problem is I see the entire viewfinder, with the REC indicator, etc., which doesn't work for my purposes (Live Streaming of lectures.) Is there a setting on this, or any other Sony consumer-grade camcorder to allow it function as a webcam? It would need it to stay on for hours without recording to its own media.

My research was based on a call to Sony. So much for that. Happy

But I'm noticing companies and others don't know their products anymore. They tend to tell you anything to get the sale.
