Sony Bravia LCD blackouts

by dohearne / April 11, 2006 10:41 AM PDT

I just bought a SOny Bravia LCD 40". It's great, but I've been experiencing these periodic blackouts where the screen goes black, but the audio continues. These episodes usually last a split second to a couple of seconds, but tonight, the whole set seemed to turn off and we had to turn it back on again. This phenomenon only seems to happen when we''re watching regular tv and not when we're watching DVD's. Is it the TV?
The box? The cables? The connection? I'm at a loss.
