I purchased my 50" Sony KDL52W4100 in 10/08 and have had off and on problems with the sound going off for several seconds. I replaced the DVR box but the problem is still happening. It happens on both HD and regular channels and on DVR recordings and live TV.
Does anyone have any suggestions on what to do?
I have had my Sony Bravia LCD for almost 2 years. After about 6 months it started having some sound issues. At random times when I turn the TV on or switch from HDMI 1 to HDMI 2 it will go mute. It never goes out while I am watching TV. I thought it could be one of two things. Either the HDMI cable was faulty, or one of the HDMI ports was not working properly. I have tried putting cables in different ports and bought a new cable but it still happens. The only way I know how to fix it is to either switch the input back and forth (from HDMI 1 to HDMI 2) or just turn the TV off then on.
I would like to know if anyone has had this problem and if so what did they do to fix it. I have called Sony about this and all they will do is send someone to look at it and at best they will give me a refurbished one. The problem with that is that I can't make it happen when I want. Everyone knows that if the repair guy was here for a month it would never do it. But, as soon as he leave it messes up.
Thanks for your help.
