Hi,
I have a sony blu ray player BDP-S370. I used to connect it to internet via my windows7 laptop (internet connection sharing) using an ethernet cable until a month ago and stopped using it for a while. Yesterday when I was trying to hook it up, I was unable to connect to internet.ICS (internet connection sharing) feature on network sharing section in the control panel is still enabled. I also tried to assign static ip addresses for the blu ray player player as given on one of the forums on internet but it didnt work either. Im copying it here "In Windows 7 you have to go to the properties of the LAN (ethernet) adapter and change to a static IP on each device. To change the IP, go to TCP IPv4 properties of the LAN adapter (network and sharing settings then change adapter settings). On the Laptop change the IP to 192.168.0.1 then subnet to 255.255.255.0 and leave blank or 0 all others. On the BD player you have to go to network settings and assign to the LAN IP 192.168.0.2, subnet to 255.255.255.0, default gateway to 192.168.0.1, DNS 192.168.0.1. You have to enable ICS (internet connection sharing) in the laptop. To do this go to the wireless adapter properties (not the LAN, the WIRELESS adapter), advance tab and enable it. "
I called sony customer support but they said blu ray player cannot be connected to laptop. I told them I used to connect it, they said, they cant help me here.
I would really appreciate if someone could help me out here
