Question

SonicWall Analyzer - Where do I install this?

Mar 15, 2017 3:55PM PDT

Stupid question I know!, but all the instructions I have looked at just say don't use the IP of the SonicWall appliance, then what IP should I use??
And do I install on a Server? My Workstation? What local drive do I download it to?
sorry but when I got hired here I just got thrown into the SonicWall world and have had to learn everything on my own.
Thanks for any help on this!

License is already paid for and upgraded on the SonicWall

It is already paid for and I already installed the license.
Now I have to install the product but it is not clear to me what IP address do I use if I cannot use the IP of the SonicWall Appliance. And where do I install it and run the Analyzer from?

You paid for this product and if the docs, web site don't have the answer then you put in a call or support ticket.

In other words, unlike software a lot of us have this one is rare and not used by many so to get support you go to where the support is.

I did check the support page and watched the video

The instructions are not clear to me which is why I am reaching out to the forum.
The license is already paid for and I already activated the license on the SonicWall.
Now I have to install the product but it is not clear to me what IP address do I use if I cannot use the IP of the SonicWall Appliance. And where do I install it and run the Analyzer from?

It's Why I Mentioned The "Contact Us" Number

After a quick read of the installation docs,
9. SonicWall Universal Management Suite Settings: Then you need to choose the IP address on which GMS 8.1 will be listening. This has to be one of your GMS server IP address (Note: Do not enter the IP address of your SonicWall UTM product here). Click Next button.

.... it appears to me that you use the IP address of the server and the program can be installed on any computer in the network, but since I haven't worked with this product, your best bet is to contact the manufacturer.

Hope this helps.
