Even if you had your old laptop, the likelihood if you have a HD5 vintage Chronicstage install is that the music is encrypted - which requires a timeconsuming backup and restore process.
Without your laptop, there isn't really a way to get music out of the player, that is how Sony rolled before they finally woke up a little, circa 2007.
I purchased a Sony NW-HD5 five years ago when they first came out and was using Sonic Stage to transfer music to the NW-HD5. I was using my laptop and my laptop decided to never work again a few weeks ago, so i got a new laptop.
The problem is that i want to make a CD with songs that are on the NW-HD5 but I cant trnasfer music from the device to my new laptop.
Does anybody know away of getting around this?
I know there is something to do with the copyrights Sony incorporated into Sonic Stage.
I no longer have my old laptop, does this make it even harder to solve the problem?
Thanks
