Resolved Question

something with avast preventing the internet from starting

Feb 1, 2015 7:17PM PST

First of all I am not very computer savvy. I have had the paid for version of avast for a fer years now with no problems, this last few weeks i have had trouble in boot up with the internet not starting, there is an avast symbol with a red x through it. On clicking the red x I get a message "Avast SecurelineVPN has stopped working" and something about being out of date by 16467 days.
Securelinevpn is not something that i have asked for or paid for, I didn't even know what it meant until I have read up about it (and I still do not fully understand it).
I can get out of it by rebooting my pc and eventually the message disappears.
I would be grateful for any advice on how I can stop the thing playing havoc with my pc.

I didn't know you could do that but i found the VPN switch and disabled it and up to now the solution has worked.

My system date at the moment is showing 03/02/2015
