Something strange

Aug 13, 2007 4:45AM PDT

Hey I noticed that I have a different username when looking at MY posts, under the name "jprkenny" I'm actually stevent1992, I don't know whether you've noticed but this ain't supposed to happen. Also the "jprkenny" profile says that it was registered December 31, 1999, thats very strange.

Actually my older posts are doing that, go look at my profile, click the "All forum posts" go to one of them and you'll see what I mean, let me know if it looks the same to you.

Its a known fault.

This happens sometimes where profiles get mixed up. The Engineers have been looking for the bug for some time but it is hiding.

In case they don't notice your post I have alerted them for you. They will get you back as soon as they can.

Ok thanks, I reported it, just in case its some sort of a nasty bug that may cause mass confusion. For the time being I guess I have to be under that username, but since I don't visit here often, the next time I come back, it will be fixed. I wonder if it is happening to many others as well?

It's struck a handful of people...

The number of reported incidents is likely around a dozen over the past couple months. The cause remains unknown, but the engineers are reassociating posts with usernames on a case-by-case basis as they're reported. (The usernames remain completely separate, but older posts are mistakenly linked to another username instead of the original poster.) Yours should be taken care of within the next couple days.
