Hi, J (?)

I wasn't saying that the member was odd, but that there are some inconsistencies about the profile. You've surely posted more than 4 messages since you joined?!

This person is an old time registered member of CNET...
Feb 17, 2005 6:34AM PST

And since registration is based off of when the person registered with CNET, rather than the CNET forums in particular, that's the reason for this date.

Since TalkBack throughout CNET uses Jive also, his post totals are of the forums and TalkBacks combined. Eventually profiles will be set up for TalkBacks also. And these current profiles will be used for all CNET COmmunity related activities.

I hope this clarifies things.

Hi, Lee.

Perhaps the search only picks up the postings under a new name when one changes it? Because it is J as Glenda says, he's posted close to the hundreds shown as "total posted," not just the four found by the search. Hopefully this won't be a problem much longer since you're going to "lock in" names soon, but it does cause a problem...

Quote the David: Something odd about this profile, Lee?< http://reviews.cnet.com/5213-6130-0.html?id=30256&forumID=50&threadID=64667 >It shows this user has been a member since 2002 (before our forums opened) with 473 total posts, yet "show all posts" only shows 4, all in the last four days. What's going on here?

Dave, It?s the Lenten Season and time for personal reflection. Why did you do it Dave? Only you know for sure. Was I too rough on FDR?s $ocial Ob$curity or what,? I haven?t a clue as to why.

From my Cat[gic] Bird Seat out here in the e-hinterlands, it looks like it wasn?t a completely Kosher Moderator Inquiry and not truly for the better good of the CNET SE Father-Motherland, as implied. Most everyone who are SE Regulars, like Glenda & Cindi Haynes?et al., were able to connect-the-dots & follow-the-bouncing-ball yet you appear to have feigned Hey, Lee??this is odd ignorance.

For the record there are no inconsistencies about the profile. I have been playing in the CNET sand box since back in 2002, so that entry is Correctomundo accurate. If Lee?s This person is an old time registered member of CNET doesn?t do it for you then CNET?s Charles Cooper can vouch for me on it. If you need to REAL Web ID, verify it by clicking on http://about-cnet.com.com/2009-1081-958304.html or http://about-cnet.com.com/2009-1081_3-954599.html

As far as numbers of posted messages goes, when I pop Catgic into the search hopper is displays both my current and previous Screen Names?when that previous Screen Name is searched it displays many more than 4 messages. Thus, I have to question your veracity on this whole sequence of Catgic REAL ID related Dr. Dave postings.

I still LUV Ya DK, but just in case, since it's Lent, I'll say a prayer to aid in your full contrition.

You're still not getting my point

I'm using your profile as an example to show a problem in the Profiles, not with you! The profile says you've made several hundred posts since you joined (which you've verified here), but when you click the link to see them, only four are shown. That's a problem with the profiling software!

Dave, the number of posts in profiles can
Feb 24, 2005 4:37AM PST

stem from other CNET community areas which doesn't necessarily reflect the forums only. Other instances would be CNET TalkBacks which uses Jive software also and since he is using the same registered info to post to two community areas, it is tallied as one lump sum of posts. So while only 4 post of his only show up in search results, the other couple of hundred post are TalkBack posts which are not surfaced in search.

This forum profile page of ours will eventually track all community activities which go beyond the CNET forums itself and will be redesign to show the specified total number of posts to which community property --whether it be the forums, TalkBacks, or User Opinions... I hope this clarifies things a bit.

Thanks,

FYI
Feb 23, 2005 7:48PM PST

putting catgic in the search hopper spews out 19 (or 21) messages posted by you as of this date and time...

i.e. only messages posted under your current ID...

I hear you JJ, but honest ***** I no lie. Hey, it?s Lent, after all.

When I read DK?s MOD complaint to LK, I did the Dave Konkel SEARCH ?Catgic? thing at Zero-Dark Thirty on 2/18/05 from the machine here in my Cyber Sanctum Sanctorum using my new Lee Koo driven Screen Name to check it out. When I did, all postings under it displayed, and some from my previous four-letter Screen Name. When I clicked on that four-letter name displayed there, all my posts under it came up plus some with my earlier nine-letter name. I clicked that nine-letter name and all posts under it were displayed. It was kind of like a water-fall effect.

In response to your FYI I tried the same thing again today, but the ?water-fall? didn?t happen when I tried it today. Maybe when I did it back on 2/18, the CNET System was in a ?maintenance or upgrade? and somehow a few of the earlier posts ?leaked through? and displayed, based upon my REAL NAME interconnection in the CNET database and CNET's Perspectives, CNET.news, AnchorDesk, TalkBacks, User Opinions, et al.

Search me JJ, but it happened to me as reported in my Re: Hi Lee?Brother Dave, It?s Lent. Time for reflection post.
